No One Should Be Made to Choose ..LIES from July 09 Awake
by Hopscotch inthe following quote is taken from the article is it wrong to change your religion?
in the july 2009 awake p29:
no one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family.

Boyzone, well done you for what you said to your work mates. Good job with anti-witnessing.
I've done something similar with my extended family and some old calls. Just let them in on a couple of bits of insider information (like shunning, blood fractions, etc) and that seems to "inoculate" them against falling for the JWs. And then they tell 2 friends, and their 2 friends tell to friends and on it goes...

If they - the Governing Body and the R&F JWs - aren't challenged on these sort of things, if we just let articles like this drift down the river without waving them under the noses of the R&F JWs, how will the Org ever be held to account for their disastrous double-speak?
Here, here Password!
You know, maybe little or nothing will come of this article but it shouldn't be for lack of trying! Maybe just by making the r&f witness feel a little discomfort in distributing this blatant double-speak will be the tiny crack in the dam. -

...is not working for me.
Anyone know what's up with it?

rough draft re:shunning & new Awake article
by carla inrough draft meant for non jw's, need to shorten it up, etc... comments?.
in a recent awake!
published by the watchtower bible & tract society, delivered by local jehovah witness members, they made this claim:.

Nice one, carla.
I hope you can manage to get this info to a wide audience. People need to know the double standards as the general public usually only see the nice, shiny happy public side of the WTS.

I wish they'd realise that the headship idea just doesn't work. Well, maybe for a small minority of people who naturally fall in to those pre-assigned roles. Others, and I'm speaking from experience, just don't fit in to those notions of submissive wife/decisive husband and the pain of trying to can be hard to bare.
Thankfully that's all behind me now!

This looks like a good place to introduce myself
by mindmelda inhi, i'm 49 and have been an inactive witness for years now.
i was baptized at age 16 about 33 years ago mainly to please my parents and to fit in, cuz everyone was doing it.
and i was able to answer all those questions in the organization book because i have a near photographic memory, as it turns out.

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 05-03-09 WT Study (LAMB)
by blondie inevidence of god's confidence in the anointed, who "keep following the lamb no matter where he goes.

what shows that jesus christ completely trusts the slave class?

When a GB member starts washing feet, I'll listen to what they have to say about character.
Well said Spook!

Thanks Blondie.
What a huge pile of stinking shite! That article is just so infuriating for those of us who are trying to keep contact up with our in families. It's just going to make them think they are being disloyal to God by not doing all that the WT tells them to do, including limiting their association with us thinking "disloyal" ones who've left.
It's one of the hardest things to overcome when talking to them, ie that the GB are standing in place of Jesus. Its so hard to reason with them and I've all but given up on it.
Thanks for posting these comments. I'm sure some of us will feel the fall-out from it.

Did You "Care" About Disfellowshipped People?
by minimus inas a witness, i was trained not to feel bad for "those that left us".
if they didn't want to stay, that was their decision.
if they decided to stop the "sweet fellowship" of the brotherhood, we needed to avoid them so that they could miss us, see the error of their way and "come back to jehovah".. when you were a jehovah's witness, did you avoid disfellowshipped ones and mentally stop caring about them?.

Some, yes. Others, no. Two very close friends got DF within a few months of each other (though for unrelated incidents). I would often ask after them thru their "in" family or people from the cong whose territory they were in.
So no, I didn't forget them.
